EastSide FC - COVID 19 INFORMATION

Eastside Return to the Field Plan:

Eastside seeks to align our guidelines with those of the State of Michigan, Wayne County Health Department, and Michigan State Youth Soccer Association. The latest CDC guidelines can be found HERE Please check back often for updates and more information as it becomes available. All protocol subject to change.

What to do if your child test positive for COVID-19

If your child tests positive for COVID-19 at any time during the season, please contact Terri Farrell at [email protected] as soon as possible. Personal information will be kept confidential.  

When To Stay Home

He/she has at least 1 of the following symptoms:

  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Loss of smell or taste

 

 

  OR

He/she has at least 2 of the following symptoms:

  • Fever (100.4 degrees F or higher)
  • Vomiting or diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Sore throat
  • Runny nose/congestion
  • Body aches

 

 

   OR

If in the last 10 days he/she has tested positive for COVID-19, or is not fully vaccinated and has been identified as a close contact of anyone who has had a positive COVID-19 test  ("close contact" is defined as less than 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes)

 

When to Return to Play

  • If you have symptoms, contact your health care provider to determine the cause
  • Players who test positive for COVID-19 (regardlesss of vaccination status) must isolate for 5 days (day 0 is 1st day of symptoms or positive test). On day 6, they may return to Eastside activities provided symptoms are resolving, they are fever-free for the past 24 hours, and wear a well-fitting mask for 5 more days.
  • Unvaccinated individuals exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 infection must not return to any activities for at least 5 days after the last contact with the positive case (day 0 is the day of the close contact exposure), regardless of a negative test result. They must test on day 5. If they test negative, and have no symptoms, they may return to Eastside activities provided they wear a well-fitting mask for an additional 5 days. If they test positive, please contact Terri Farrell to determine a return-to-play date.
  • Fully vaccinated players /coaches exposed to a confirmed COVID-19 infection or who had a PCR-confirmed case of COVID in the past 90 days do not need to quarantine from Eastside activities  unless they start to experience symptoms of COVID-19. They must wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days (day 0 is the date of the close contact exposure).
  • If an exposed individual begins feeling sick or exhibiting symptoms consistent with COVID-19, they should speak with their heal care provider and are urged to get a COVID-19 test, regardless of vaccination status.

Guidelines for Parents:

  • Please take your player’s temperature every day before coming to the field
  • Keep them home if they have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher, or if they have any of the possible COVID-19 symptoms to the right.
  • Outdoors--Players may wear masks at their discretion.
  • Indoors--Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Players / Coaches / Spectators are advised to wear a face covering at all times over their nose and mouth when indoors--especially when community spread and COVID numbers are high.
  • Players should bring their own drinks no sharing is permitted
  • Only necessary equipment will be used during practices to reduce the risk of players coming into contact with equipment
  • Players spread out 6 feet while on the sidelines/team bench
  • We recommend that families bring their own sanitizing and hygiene products to avoid sharing
  • Please avoid carpooling whenever possible

Guidelines for games:

  • Goalies must not share equipment
  • Throw ins allowed
  • Headers allowed for age groups where heading is allowed
  • Keep your player home if they have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher,  if they have any of the possible COVID-19 symptoms above, or if they have tested positive for COVID within the past 10 days, or are currently quarantined due to a close contact exposure to someone who has tested positive for COVID.
  • Teams and their spectators should be placed on opposite sides of the field, when possible.
